How do I assign tags to categories?

Once you have created a Category, you can assign Tags to its record. This is useful so that you can break down the category rules so that the user with a particular tag will see this category. 
 

For example, you can break down the category rules by Department tags. Therefore any user with Development or Sales tags will see this category. Or, for example, you can exclude departments by selecting Unavailable for any User with Development or Sales Department tags. Therefore, any users with no Development or Sales tags will not see this category. 

Before you begin...

Ensure that you have created the relevant Tags before you assign one to a User Account.

When importing Tags into a category, enter the Tag Codes in a comma delimited format. e.g. DEV, MAR, SAL.

To Assign Tags to Categories

  1. Navigate to the Categories page. 
    Go to Setup> Overview> Expense Categories or Setup> Categories
  2. Select the relevant Category. The Category details appears.

  3. Navigate to the Tags that were created in Tags & Costcentres.

  4. Select either of the following:
    •  Available for Any User with: This allows you to apply any of the Tag records to the Category, so that when the user has the assigned Tags, they will see this Category.
    • Unavailable for Any User with: This allows you to exclude the Tag records, so that any user who has the Tag records, will not see this Category.

  5. Click the Save button. The Tags are applied to the Category.
